The timeframe for resolving the recognition file is 30 days from the date of submitting the application, and an appeal can be filed within 30 days from the communication of the result, with its resolution taking a maximum of 90 days from the appeal. The recognition file is evaluated by an evaluation committee, consisting of three teaching staff members appointed by the Department Council that manages the scientific field in which the doctoral title is granted, and issues a decision regarding the recognition request, which is validated by the Department Council. The teaching staff members in the committee must hold a doctoral title in the same scientific field or a related field. Appeals are subject to the approval of the University Senate, which appoints a re-evaluation committee, made up of three teaching staff members other than those in the initial committee, to re-examine the recognition file. The decision of the committee appointed by the senate is final and is validated at the first meeting of this body. The decision of recognition or non-recognition is issued by the rector, following the uncontested solution given by the evaluation committee, validated by the Department Council, or the solution of the re-evaluation committee, validated by the senate.
