Women who are part of a vulnerable category and who gave birth starting from April 12, 2024, can benefit from social vouchers worth 2,000 lei, which can be used to purchase products intended for the care of the newborn.
The maximum age of three months for the newborn is verified at the time of identifying the mother/newborn pair by the Oradea Social Assistance Directorate and including them in the specific lists. The Oradea Social Assistance Directorate identifies, prepares, and assumes, through the signature of the legal representative, the lists of final recipients, with separate highlighting of the category of final recipients.
The following categories of people are considered eligible and can benefit, on request, from social vouchers in electronic format:
- Mothers who are beneficiaries of the minimum inclusion income;
- Mothers with disabilities;
- Mothers in critical situations (natural disasters, domestic violence, etc.);
- Mothers without identity documents;
- Underage mothers;
- Mothers who are foreign citizens or stateless from conflict areas.
The social voucher in electronic format for newborns can be used only on Romanian territory, within its validity period, and only for the purchase of care products for newborns for which it was issued. Products for the care of the newborn represent specific items in the newborn's layette, necessary for the care of the newborn, namely: diapers, products for newborn hygiene, clothing articles for the newborn, sanitary and medical items for the mother/newborn pair.
