In order to stimulate school attendance, the School Supplies Program was launched in 2002, targeting students in state primary and lower secondary education, daytime courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.
The composition of the packages with school supplies granted to students is established based on the Methodology for applying the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.
Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for the Assistance of Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting from this school year, the purchase of school supplies for preschoolers, as well as the supplementation with backpacks of the packages of supplies granted to primary and lower secondary students.
