The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, by making an express request, meet the following conditions: hold an official title of qualification in pharmacy, are not found in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained the bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the territorial college account RO68BTRL00301205252035XX in the amount of 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR from graduation and 235 lei for the rest of the persons).
*Suspension of membership is done when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College a request by which they ask for the suspension of their membership. At the time they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must fulfill the requirement of continuous professional training with a number of 40 EFC hours for the respective period.
The pharmacist undertakes that within 30 days from resuming activity to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania.
*In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Certificate of Membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation to the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania.
*Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:
In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the chief position), will contact the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.
Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.
The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of the C.F.R. no. 1/2007, published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.
Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:
- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;
- Within a maximum of three days from the receipt of the request to issue the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard application for preparing and issuing the document;
- Within a maximum of 30 days from the receipt of the request, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will prepare a Register of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to applicants upon receipt signature.
The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College ACCOUNT RO68BTRL00601205252035XX.
For obtaining the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file that will include the documents listed below.
*The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before the transfer note is issued, the requesting pharmacist is required to pay up to date the dues owed to the college they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed to the applicant, under signature. In the pharmacists' registry (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint against the pharmacist has been registered at the college they are transferring from, or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.
*The reinstatement of membership is done based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Bucharest College of Pharmacists, whereby they request the reinstatement of membership starting from a certain date.
